BUZZCOCKS GIG DECEMBER 14TH 2019

The Distractions opened for The Buzzcocks with Steve Diggle now in charge, at 53 Degrees in Preston, rekindling a relationship between the two bands that goes back four decades since they shared a bill in 1977.

Despite only playing a short set The Distractions steadily attracted a good crowd getting a great response and made a host of new fans.

2018

The year got off to a great start with our first London gig for over 30 years at The Dublin Castle Camden. It was a packed house and went down a storm! Scroll down the REVIEWS/LINKS page to see reviews from Louder than War and Record Collector magazines.

In March we played at The Continental in Preston supporting The Monochrome Set

In May we Made our Yorkshire debut headlining at The Lantern in Halifax supported by none other than Joe Martin from Cabbage doing a solo set!

June 1st we played The Kings Arms in Salford to headline a great bill to play the 'Big Change' fundraiser. An admirable organisation set up by musicians to raise money an help for the homeless in Manchester.

Monday 27th August we played the Glasto-Bury charity event once again

8th September we rocked the Dublin Castle in Camden Town once again going down very well and featured two new songs written by the current band.

30th September we returned to the Witchwood in Ashton for a Sunday Punk session with our old TJM label mates V2. It was a cracking afternoon and was great to see lots of old mates there including the boss of TJM Records, the man who had faith in us at the very beginning, Tony Davidson.

We have one track (Time Goes By So Slow) on a great new compilation on Cherry Red records which also features The Buzzcocks, Elvis Costello, Squeeze and many others, Harmony in my head: UK Power Pop and New Wave 1977-1981. More info here:

2017

2017 was a great year for the (live) band starting at the Dulcimer bar in February.

Followed by one at Gullivers supported by the splendid Factory Acts

Others have been at The Witchwood in Ashton,

A benefit for the victims of the Manchester bombing at the Carlton Club.

The Spinning Top in Stockport where we did a live recording

A huge charity festival in Bury, ** Glaston-Bury ** (geddit!)

And a real corker, supporting one of our all time favorite bands, The Flamin Groovies at the Ruby Lounge in Manchester where a splendid time was had by all! *(see pic on the slide show below of Joe, Chris from The FGs and Mike) *

The Peel Hat supporting Eton Crop in Manchester, October 26th went well despite it being a small venue with lots of good feedback

November we supported punk legends Penetration at the Continental club Preston and went down a storm with the sold out crowd.
