We have collected some of our most frequently asked questions below to help you find the answers faster. You can book tickets for our show over the phone, from our box office or from our website. For touring shows, tickets will also be available on ticketing sites such as TicketMaster, Gigantic and See Tickets.
Our phone lines are open everyday from 10am - 4pm. Our Box Office is open Thursday and Friday 3.30 -7pm, and Saturday's 12-6pm. Our box office is also open on the night of shows although we don't advise coming down on sold out shows as our staff will have their hands full. Please do not call us if you have ventured down at 8am on a Monday morning looking to book tickets. Our Box Office will not be open, and we will be in bed still.
Yes. For every show we print a limited number of physical tickets. If you want to have a physical memory of each show, you can get your physical tickets from our box office and pay cash for them, or order over the phone and we will send them out to you. Please note there may be a delay between show announcement and the physical tickets being available due to printing. Please ring ahead to make sure the tickets you want are in especially if you're travelling a distance.
If you have ordered a ticket online from our website you will be sent an e ticket which you can bring to the show. If you bought from any other major ticket retailer (Ticketmaster, SeeTickets, Gigantic etc), you cannot pick up your ticket before the doors open for the show.
No - you can bring your eticket on your smart phone and we will be able to scan you in from that. We like trees, so this is our prefered option.
Please make sure you check your junk and spam folder before contacting us. Searching for Music Glue (the ticket agency) might be more fruitful than searching Wedgewood Rooms or the artist who you have paid to see. If you still cannot find the ticket you can e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Box Office at 02392863911, we will cancel your tickets and issue you with new ones (original e-ticket will be void)
If a show is rescheduled you will only be entitled to a refund once the new date is announced. If the show is cancelled and you have purchased your tickets via Music Glue your e-tickets will be automatically refunded, this should also be the case with SEE Tickets, Ticketmaster and Gigantic. If you have purchased via them and not been refunded you will need to contact them. If you bought physical tickets from the Box Office you will need to return them to the box office for a cash refund within two months after the date of the show itself. Opening times can be found at venue info page.
The Wedgewood Rooms tickets are non transferable and non refundable. Re-selling tickets online at above cost price is ticket touting, which harms both artists and venues. Anyone we find selling their tickets at above cost price will have their tickets cancelled and may be barred in future from booking tickets for our shows. Purchasers please be aware that if you are buying secondary tickets, that they are not above the initial cost price. Original prices can be checked by contacting the venue.
Music Glue are the independent ticket agency that we work with in partnership, to process your ticket purchase. Whilst we have your name, email address and ticket purchase information, we do not have any information about your address or credit card information. Further, none of this information is stored on our website.
There is a small smoking area outside the venue, to which we will allow limited access. This will close half an hour before the published curfew time. To comply with the current laws we will be operating a zero tolerance policy towards smoking in any part of the building.
Right of admission reserved. Searches may be carried out on entry to the premises. The Police may be called if anyone is found in possession of illegal substances or offensive weapons. We have always operated the venue with a no readmission policy ie once you’re in you’re in. However, if for any reason you need to leave the venue, please discuss this with security on the door.
We participate in the ‘Challenge 25 ‘ scheme. Anyone who is, or appears to be under 25 will be asked for ID at the bar before being served. On nights when we open late, and particularly at weekends, all customers will be asked for some form of picture ID before they are allowed into the venue. A driving licence or passport is required, and is the only ID we accept, along with the brand new PASS card.
All our Security staff are fully SIA trained.

We do not advertise set times as they are often only agreed upon shortly before we open and only considered estimates (subject to change). The following is an approximate guide but please see the website or ring the venue beforehand as it will vary show to show (i.e. folk act may start/finish earlier, club night might start/run later).
7:30PM Doors Open | 8:PM First Band | 9:00PM Headline band | 11:00PM Close
We highly recommend seeing all the acts, many famous musicians have started as the support so get down early if you can!
Curfew on gig nights in the Wedge and the Edge is around 11.00pm, Weekdays. On Friday and Saturday nights we have a late license, so please check individual shows for further details on when they will be finishing.
Whilst most of our shows are standing, we do have shows that are seated, these mainly being our comedy, folk and theatre events.
However, if you struggle standing for long periods of time, you can contact a member of security after entering the venue, and they will arrange a seat for you at the back. Unfortunately due to the size of the room is not feesable to have chairs seated anywhere else in the venue on standing shows.
All the roads on the same side of the venue are free parking after 7pm. Good roads to park down would be Fawcett Road, Lawrence Road, Harold Road, Graham Road. Albert Road also has free parking after 6pm. The Nearest free car park is at Waitrose in Southsea.
If you think you have left anything at the venue please contact a member of security on the night of the show as all lost property is passed to them. If it is not found on the night, please call back the next day from 11am and a member of staff will see if anything has been handed in. If it is not collected lost property will be held at the venue for 6 months before we give it to charity.
Whilst we will do what we can to promote the local scene, the opportunity for support slots at The Wedge is extremely limited. When a support slot is available we will post it out on our social media, and it is then up to the agent to decide which band plays the show. We do however run an annual unsigned showcase, where local bands can win studio time, as well as shows with some high profile artists. Many of the artists that have played these showcases have gone on to support bigger artists at The Wedge, so keep an eye out for when it starts.
Alternatively, we work with some great local promoters in our sister venue The Edge of The Wedge, for more info visit the Get A Gig page.
Please note that due to copyright issues, we do not issue photo passes unless at the request of the artists involved. Furthermore we do not allow high quality filming or photographing of acts within the venue. Anyone found doing this without authorisation may have their equipment confiscated, and the photos or film deleted.
We operate strobe lighting systems, particularly for live gigs and club nights. If you are worried about strobe lighting on any of our particular shows, please call the venue and we will give you more information.
