The Glad Foundation's Guitar Club is back for the 2023/2024 school term, with new tutor James Barnett-Siggens! These take place at The Glad Cafe, and are a great way for youth to learn music skills while connecting with each other in a friendly and supportive setting. Students can learn electric, acoustic, or bass guitar, and are welcome to borrow an instrument from us or to bring their own. The sessions are geared towards less experienced musicians, but are open to all ability levels. Through playing together, students will learn the skills needed to listen and communicate, keep in time, and play as a band.
Guitar Club is supported by the Irvine Sneddon Memorial Trust. Irvine Sneddon was a local history teacher and keen musician with a love for rock ‘n roll. With the support of the Irvine Sneddon Memorial Trust set up by his son David, we now honour both Irvine’s teaching and love of music with an after-school group acoustic/electric and bass guitar class for young people (S1-4).
