Are you passionate about creating opportunities for young people to access the joy of music? Could you use your skills and experience to guide a small but vibrant charity dedicated to breaking down barriers to music education? If so, The Glad Foundation would love to hear from you!
We are a Southside Glasgow-based charity committed to ensuring that young people, regardless of their background or ability, can engage meaningfully with music and the wider arts. Since 2015, we’ve worked with schools and community groups to deliver a wide-ranging programme of music activities, empowering young people to connect with themselves and their community.
Our programmes include: The Annette Street Drummers, a longstanding samba bateria-style street band focussed on serving children from some of the most disadvantaged backgrounds in Scotland; the Glad Kids Choir, an accessible choir for ages 5 - 10; Glad Days, an event series showcasing our programmes; and one-off music workshops run throughout the year for all ages and abilities.
We’re particularly interested in individuals with expertise in:
Safeguarding: Experience working with children, young people, and vulnerable groups, and managing safeguarding in the delivery of arts activities with these groups.
Fundraising: Success in securing funds through grants, partnerships, or other means.
Financial Management (bonus): Skills to support the strategic management of our resources.
Most importantly, we’re seeking people who are passionate about creating opportunities for young people to access music and who can bring new ideas and perspectives to our board.
At The Glad Foundation, we are committed to building a board that reflects the rich diversity of our Southside community and the young people we work with - we are actively seeking trustees from all backgrounds and abilities. We are an LGBTQ+ friendly organisation and encourage anyone who shares our passion for inclusion and equality to apply.
We are now looking for new trustees to help shape the future of our charity and ensure we can continue to grow our impact, particularly in supporting the diverse young people we serve.
As a trustee, you will:
