Glasgow Jazz Festival x Jazz at the Glad: Norman Willmore
Entry Requirements: Over 18s only
Hailing from the rugged Shetland Islands, Norman Willmore draws inspiration from his Scandinavian and Norse roots, infusing traditional tunes passed down by Trolls and Njugles with contemporary elements of free jazz. Born on the kitchen floor of the last house on the last road, Norman now calls Glasgow home and leads a dynamic ensemble of talented musicians.
Featuring Harry Gorski-Brown on Fiddle, Brodie Jarvie on Double Bass, and Tom Gibbs on Rhodes, the band delivers a unique and captivating sound that seamlessly blends ancient and modern influences. With Norman on Saxophone, their performances are a mesmerizing journey through time and culture that leaves audiences spellbound.
From the hauntingly beautiful melodies of the Shetland Islands to original compositions that push the boundaries of genre, this band is not to be missed. With each member bringing their own distinctive style and energy to the stage, their live shows are an unforgettable experience that will leave you wanting more.
