The Glad Cafe is proud to promote equality of opportunity for people with disabilities and is committed to improving Deaf and disabled people’s access to live music, great food and creative opportunities.

We are delighted to be working with Gig Buddies, who connect volunteers and people with a learning disability to get out to gigs they both love.

Bookings and Ticketing:

How to Book

Tickets to all shows can be booked online at www.thegladcafe.co.uk/whats-on or purchased on the door on the evening of the event (subject to availability). If you experience any problems with booking tickets, please contact kim@thegladcafe.co.uk or call 0141 636 6119.

Personal Assistants/Gig Buddies

If you have accessibility requirements and wish to attend a Glad Cafe show, first buy a ticket then contact the venue prior to the show and we can provide you with an allocated space in the accessible viewing area. If you require a ticket for a Personal Assistant/Gig Buddy (at no extra cost), please contact kim@thegladcafe.co.uk.

Getting to The Glad Cafe:

There are single yellow lines and some pay and display parking bays located outside the Glad Cafe. Disabled Badge holders can park here.

We have excellent public transport links which we encourage visitors to use in line with our commitment to reduce our environmental impact.

Travel by Bike

There is limited space to park your own bike in the venue and nextbike bike hire bays on Kilmarnock Road.

Travel by Rail

The Glad Cafe is serviced by the Scotrail Station at Crossmyloof (0.3miles distance). Trains run there from Glasgow's Central Station over a 6 minute journey. There are 4 trains an hour Monday to Saturday and 3 trains per hour on a Sunday.

Travel by Bus

First Bus run services to Pollokshaws Road, directly outside the Glad Cafe: 3, 4, 29, 38, 57, 103.

Travel by Taxi

Taxi’s are able to pick-up/drop off directly outside the Glad Cafe. The nearest taxi rank is across the road outside the Langside Halls (0.1 miles distance).

Inside The Glad Cafe

The cafe

There is a ramp down the right hand side of the cafe, making the whole space wheelchair accessible.

The venue

The accessible viewing area is located at the from left of the stage, beside the bar. The venue bar has a lowered section. Once inside, there are no steps and easy access to the accessible viewing area which we will lead you to. There are great sight lines to the stage.

Accessible Toilet:

This is located in the cafe. As you enter the cafe, continue straight on to the bar and turn left.

Visually Impaired customers:

Visually impaired customers are more than welcome to use the accessible viewing area if they would like to.

People with Photosensitive Epilepsy:

We occasionally use flashing lighting in the venue and if you need further information about this please ring the venue on 0141 636 6119 and ask to speak to a manager.

Customers with Medical Requirements:

We welcome all customers who may require to bring their own medicines, food/drink or equipment to help manage a medical condition. If you require any urgent medical assistance whilst on site, please notify a member of staff immediately.

Assistance dogs:

Assistance dogs are very welcome in the cafe and venue.

Visiting with a family?

  • The Glad Cafe is an accessible and family friendly space.
  • Baby changing facilities are available in the accessible toilet.
  • Breastfeeding is welcome here.
  • Children under 12 must be supervised at all times.
  • Over 18's only after 8pm
