Ribongia today shares two new singles, Before The Winter (ft. Jannah Beth & YoungstaCPT) and Sonder.

Premiered yesterday via Red Bull Music, the two tracks are an exciting taste of what to expect on Ribongia's forthcoming debut LP, due for release later this year via October Records. Impeccably produced side-a & lead single, Before The Winter fuses pulsing electronica with paradisiacal rhythms, topped with sharp vocals from Sydney's Jannah Beth and verses from South Africa’s "most prolific rapper" (OkayAfrica) YoungstaCPT. YoungstaCPT's verse is an exotic tempo change, which swiftly binds the whole track together. Side-b provides an infectious energy on Sonder, melding organic elements and boasting an epic soundscape.

In addition, Ribongia today also announces his signing to prestigious booking agency, Niche Productions - home to labelmate BUOY and such talents as Hiatus Kaiyote, Winston Surfshirt & Thundamentals. Sydney producer/DJ Endgrain (Jackson May), today shares his debut single “4 x 4" - a pulsating first offering as the most recent signee to October Records.

Originally drawing inspiration from colourful beatmakers such as Bonobo and Quantic, May’s scope as a producer has evolved to increasingly draw on UK club culture, house and techno. His output varies from laid-back, dusty summer slow jams through to heart-racing, high impact club music and almost everything in between.

‘4 x 4’, the first taste from his forthcoming debut EP, is Jackson at his most immediate - a rolling, hypnotic arrangement of looping percussion, compelling bass and addictive sampling combining to form a high-energy house cut ready made for dance floors. It showcases everything that excites us about May’s output; intuitive pacing, warehouse-ready instrumentation and a sub-rattling low end that is guaranteed to make crowds move.

Having produced music under a handful of previous monikers, May today announces his new Endgrain project and signs to October Records. Stay tuned for more from his forthcoming EP due soon.

October Records are proud to announce October Nights, launching March 3rd at the Civic Underground.

The first in a series of semi-regular club nights, October Nights aims to showcase friends and family of the label in the best environment possible.

Heading up the first edition is Melbourne's Amateur Dance launching his recent Love System EP. Having caught the attention of Pitchfork, The Fader, Mixmag, Resident Advisor, Feel My Bicep and BBC Radio 1 with a slew of releases over the past 24 months, his recent Love System EP was premiered by Pete Tong and played by everyone from Andras to Shanti Celeste, Audiojack to John Digweed (!). He's been hard at work in the studio cooking up some new heaters, or in his own words, "making hard-hitting, stupid-soft dance traxxx for my friends and you" - that's you.

Making his debut appearance is Sydney's Endgrain, aka Jackson May. The flood of sights and sounds bringing every surface and particle in the room to life, taking the room and the audience through a metamorphosis of their imagination.

RIBONGIA:

Italian born, Sydney based producer Ribongia makes music to make you move.

His unique take on world electronic music and Afro-leaning sound has seen him regularly lap Australia and garner support from tastemakers such as Skrillex’s Nest HQ, Nina Las Vegas, Aston Shuffle and Sinden. He's crafted official remixes for What So Not, Sofi Tukker, Stanton Warriors, Sampology and Ngaiire as well as sharing stages with Flying Lotus, Africa Hi-Tech, Gaslamp Killer, Opiuo and Shigheto while last year's ESCAPISMS EP was nominated for 'Record of the Year' at FBi Radio's SMAC Awards.

2016 saw him play Field Day, Splendour In The Grass, Subsonic, Bigsound and Sets On The Beach as well as support Hermitude on 15 dates around Europe. 2017 finds Ribongia readying his debut album whilst fine-tuning his remarkable live show to newly energetic, dizzying and addictive heights.

EGO:

Sometimes video artist, sometimes DJ, EGO has spent the last few years wowing audiences around Australia and across the world with his live performances and visual work.

As a video artist his knack for high intensity, cut and paste, multi-media collages has seen him exhibit work at Sydney’s Vivid Festival, and kept him in high demand for music videos from labels such as Modular, Sweat it Out and Future Classic as well as commissions from big brands such as 7-11, Red Bull, and Nissan. As an audio-visual DJ his live sets have taken him from nightclubs to art galleries to the main stages of Falls Festival, Splendour in the Grass and Field Day; to across the world, playing venues in Sth America, Sth Africa, Bali and New Zealand.

His innovative use of visuals in his performances saw global DJ brand Serato make him an ambassador in 2015. In 2016 Ego was named an Australian finalist in the Redbull Thre3Style DJ competition, while spending much of the year collaborating closely with Paces on his much acclaimed live show.

Off the back of his set at Splendour in the Grass, an appearance on Mixmag’s The Lab and props from the likes of Resident Advisor, Pitchfork, THUMP, Bicep and Radio 1, Melbourne’s Joseph Cookson aka Amateur Dance has had a stellar year since the release of last year’s head-turning It’s Really Something EP.

Cookson now makes his full label debut with renowned UK label Anjunadeep, with four fresh deep cuts in his_ Love System EP_. 

The Love System EP opens with melodic groover "Dreamhack" (as premiered on BBC Radio with Pete Tong), before drifting into title track and laid back house gem "Love System", as premiered via Magnetic Mag. Followed by "You Give Me Butterflies", another nostalgic late-night cut. In keeping with the dreamy atmospherics of the first three productions, Cookson rounds off the EP with a more reflective moment in "I Lost (Your) Touch".

Florence-born, Sydney-based producer Ribongia has shared a double a-side release from his forthcoming debut album, due for release on October Records next year. 

Premiered on triple j’s Good Nights, "We Run Tings" features UK grime MC Footsie and cleverly infuses the grime-based vocal work with a pulsing tropical undercurrent and undeniable sense of fun. The second track, "Rituals", showcases Ribongia's flair for beautiful and unusual instrumental music, animating the delicate samples with a subtle energy and serving to showcase his range as an artist - a taste of whats to come on his forthcoming record.

Moonbase Commander has unveiled his new four-track EP, Orthodox.

As premiered via NestHQ, the Orthodox EP finds MBC further refining his already scintillating sound palette. New single ‘Oblivion’ (featuring Melbourne upstart Ecca Vandal & premiered on triple j’s Good Nights) is a wolf in sheep’s clothing; a pop record draped in MBC's bass-heavy production. ‘Heavyweights’ (featuring Mikey Dollaz) is a masterstroke in simplicity, supporting Mikey’s vocal with equal parts spacing and weight. Title track ‘Orthodox’ throws a straight haymaker at the dance floor and previous single ‘Greyhound’ is still as ferocious as ever in rounding out the EP.

Sydney based artist BUOY (Charmian Kingston) has spent the last year steadily building her reputation as one of Australia’s most innovative and interesting electronic acts. We are beyond excited to announce she is now set to release her sophamore EP, ‘Break’, via October Records.

Working with longtime collaborator Jack Grace and recent Pieater signing Christopher Port, the Break EP sees BUOY's pairing her established ear for melancholy and tension with bursts of vibrant colour. 

Whilst earlier output experimented heavily with vocal layering and effects, Break strips Charmian's striking vocals bare to create a newfound sense of intimacy and immediacy. Likewise, while previous EP Immersion explored the space between dark electronica and textured ambience, Break mines UK Garage and esoteric pop to infuse BUOY's output with faster tempos and dance-ready syncopation.

To celebrate, BUOY is heading off on her first national headline tour in September, taking her breathtaking live show to BigSound in Brisbane, Newtown Social Club in Sydney & Boney in Melbourne. Check dates and details and get your hands on a ticket here.
