The Members Celebrate 40 Years of The Sound of the Suburbs.. with Special Guests The Outfit (feat. Jeff Turner of the Cockney Rejects)
To be considered a classic British Artist of the 70’s and 80’s you need to have been on Top of The Pops and The Old Grey Whistle Test and with two instantly recogniseable anthems The Sound of the Suburbs and Offshore Banking Business and Hts all over the World, Tthe Members tick all the boxes.
In 1978 the Band released its first single on Stiff Records Solitary Confinement this was followed by Sound of the Suburbs in 1979 a song that would define the band. The Members are still recording and performing today...
The Outfit are a six-piece band hailing from Canning Town and Custom House in East London. Although all six members have known each other for some years, the idea to form the band came about in December 2013.
The band members consist of Jeff Turner; vocalist of the Cockney Rejects, Louis Bowers (AKA Reason); singer-rapper, pianist and producer, and Wayne Maynard; guitar player for East End Promises, Lewis Youles; bass player and lead singer for East End Promises, Del Sajiwandani (AKA Sonic); DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist and Ray Dust; drummer for Argy Bargy and KnuckDust.
The Outfit have been working on their debut album in the studio above the infamous Peacock Gym in East London. ‘Forgotten Class’ was released last year and the band are currently touring their new, infectious material.
With Indie-Infused-Rock, Hip-Hop, sing along choruses and passionate verse content, The Outfit are raring to get out there and hit 2017 by storm. Watch this space!
