Theres something nocturnal about her voice: as if she sings for those who cannot sleep. And yet, morèl prefers to write in the quiet of early mornings, when only the city whispers. It is not only her voice that brings solace; it is her stories that draw the listener in. Where others are scared of the unknown, morèl takes her brush and paints worlds that both feel familiar and deeply unknown. Her lyrics are raw in their honesty, yet always drenched in poetry. Melancholy is not just present, it forms the very foundation of her songs. Her siren-like voice, fragile yet layered, is carried by guitar lines that recall a melancholic Joan Baez. Her sound is entirely her own, yet unmistakably shaped by flamenco, which has been a constant factor in her life. Accompanied by Nadine Rypkema on guitar, she takes you on a journey through her life. Her music has already reached listeners through national Dutch radio (NPO Radio2). Following her first international performance in Paris, multiple shows in Paris and London are now scheduled, and morèl has also been selected for Popronde 2026, one of the biggest travelling festivals of the Netherlands. morèl sings as if the night understands her in ways the day never could.

The 22-year-old Nadine Rypkema, based in Rotterdam, is a composer, guitarist, word-artist, and biologist-to-be. She translates her many fascinations and observations into poetic, narrative texts and surprising compositions. With her background in classical guitar and her love for theatre and storytelling, she holds her audience’s attention from beginning to end. Through her work, Nadine aims to reveal the structures and beauty hidden within the everyday, encouraging her audience to find comfort in it. Nadine creates performances that hover between a concert, a theatre piece, and poetry. She experiments with different disciplines and invites the audience to follow her train of thought. Together with varying ensembles, she shares her love and fascination for everything that lives on earth. She explores the ways we live with different species and how other living creatures are deeply connected to our ideas of truth and identity.
