Hailing from the villages of north Cambridge and with northern English and Irish roots, Matty Whelan is an artist with rich stories to tell. Drawing on soaring indie rock arrangements and emotive lyrical delivery, Matty’s music is made for anthemic sing-alongs anywhere from the mirror to the stage.
Now based in London, 2024 will see Matty move from the studio to the live arena, with a debut single slated for release across all platforms in spring of this year, and this debut London show at the hallowed Half Moon Putney.
Matty is joined by some of South London’s finest up and coming talent in Jessie Faulkner & Essex Blonde for an evening not to be missed.

Matty Whelan
Born and raised in South East London, Jessie Faulkner is a 21 year old singer song-writer who explores unique musical worlds in her songs. A Laura Marling and Jade Bird love child, her wide-ranging influences stem from pop, folk, rock and blues artists while her music centres around storytelling lyrics and catchy melodies.
Essex Blonde is the alter ego of Essex native and creative Alfie Richer. Now based in South London, Blonde is creating self conscious guitar music for the internet age.
