Line Up

When mylittlebrother take the stage, the truth is that they own it. The band sounds enormous but excels at dipping into the most intimate and direct of personal moments before exploding again with infectious and inviting energy. A perfect pop cocktail of Will Harris's sublime croon and his uniquely characteristic way with melodies and a turn of phrase. Just as the band – Dan Mason on guitar/vocals, Robin Howson on bass/vocals and Simon Buttress on drums/vocals – shifts from cinematic soundscapes to miniature moments with supple ease, the songs move from sly, often darkly humorous observations to heartbreakingly personal declarations, or walk the line between both simultaneously. The recent addition of guitarist Jamie Williams has turbo charged the live performances and both Dan and Jamie jostle between lead and rhythm guitar effortlessly. The sum of those parts is strikingly evident on their latest album HOWL, on Big Stir Records. Packed with melody and the fine-tuned power of the live band, the record was largely written before the COVID-19 crisis but at times eerily resonates with the world into which it’s been released. But it's also full of hope, and there's a bright future for this band.

With individual successes touring internationally, performing alongside album chart toppers ‘Don Broco’ and receiving positive recognition from the likes of ‘BBC Introducing’ and ‘Amazing Radio’, Sam and Gabrielle came together to establish the male/female duo, ’Highlands’. Taking influence from artists such as Birdy, Paolo Nutini and Lizzy McAlpine, Highlands convey cozy and emotive arrangements paired with heartfelt lyrics.

Playing live, the couple contextualise their writings through the variation of instrumentation to deliver performances which are personal, authentic and sincere. The duo allow themselves to be open and vulnerable through song, creating a unique and honest relationship between themselves and their audience.

Building upon their intimate stylings, Sam and Gabrielle look forward to recording their debut project from the comfort of their home. This record promises to be rich with close vocal harmony, ambient arrangements and warm home-made intricacies. Building momentum throughout the remainder of 2023 with their live performances, the couple anticipate the release of their debut recording in 2024.

Introducing Carley Varley, a fresh new Alternative Pop/Rock Artist from the South Coast who is fast becoming one of the most exciting breakthrough artists in the South today.

Carley is a versatile and talented singer-songwriter and musician. Previously a Pop Artist, Carley is currently exploring the Alternative genre, growing up listening to bands like Linkin Park, Paramore and The Pretty Reckless.

Carley has been songwriting and playing the guitar and piano since the age of fourteen. In 2016 she was spotted busking in the quaint seaside town of Lymington on the south coast and was soon catapulted onto the stages at The Ritz and The Waldorf in London. Carley and her guitar have been regulars on the Dorset and Hampshire music scene ever since. Carley has headlined Poole Harbour Festival as a solo female act in 2022, and has also performed at other notable festivals such as Wickham Festival, Upton Food Festival, FOODIES Festival, Dorset Seafood Festival, Dogstival, Vdub at the Hub, Volksfest and Dorchester Cider Festival.

Carley is a standout vocalist with crystal clear delivery. Her performances are joyful events where she brings her effervescent personality to the stage with songs that audiences delight in singing along too.

Carley released her first EP in 2019 called 'Captured Memories' with the three tracks ‘Won't Say Sorry’, ‘Honest Conflict’ and ‘Found’. Carley's next single 'Since You Left' was released in February 2020 and has had over 30,000 streams on Spotify.

Carley's 2021 and 2022 single releases ‘Fall’, ‘Going Under’ and 'Miss Me?' were featured on BBC Introducing. She was also interviewed by the BBC and performed 'Miss Me?' acoustically and chatted about her vlog 'CVLOG' which gives advice to upcoming musicians. Better Without Me, Carley's brand new single was also featured on BBC Introducing this autumn. Better Without Me was also number 2 on the top 25 uploaded tracks on the South Coast Music Show as part of Voice FM in December 2022. Carley's singles 'Somehow I'm Alive and 'I'm not angry anymore', and 'Envy' were featured on BBC Introducing in 2023.

Carley won a Venus Award for Musical Talent in 2018, she was also an ‘Open Mic' UK finalist in 2019.

“Carley is up there with the best. She has a stunning voice and combines this beautifully with her exceptionally good guitar skills.” - Rock Generation, Gig Review

“A talented singer who lights up the room with her voice.” - Tara, The Venus Awards

Carley is currently releasing her Homesick EP, which will be released throughout 2023.

Toby Pearce may just be one of the freshest, most intriguing singer-songwriters you will hear this year; evidenced by his debut single ‘Stupid’. A deceptively simple but straight-to-the-heart track, it is the kind of song that can only come from a life lived. Co-produced by John Reynolds (Sinead O’Connor, Damien Rice, Andrea Corr) who also performs on the track, ‘Stupid’ touches upon musical cornerstones of Pearce’s life, including a touch of brooding, West Coast sound, some of the only music his Father really had in the home growing up. Emerging as if doused in Americana, the forlorn tremolo of the opening guitars give way to a clarity and confessional chorus. “QUOTE FROM TOBY ON THE SONG ITSELF” At 51, for Pearce, it is the longest of long-awaited releases. It’s something everyone can relate to at some point in their lives; restlessness in their day-to-day. Pearce, working as a lawyer, always had an itch he couldn’t scratch, and ten years ago he entered therapy. This led him to this point – combining his internal musical world with all that was expected of him, and returning to something he should have followed as a teenager. Since then, he has dedicated ( sometimes sacrificing a life outside of work) himself to music, fully galvanised. The result is a collection of songs that offer real substance which will see light over the next year, and a message that it really is never too late.
