Line Up

big manatee is a London (Tottenham) based artist hailing from North Yorkshire. A bedroom producer and spoken word artist that creates a musical mash up reflecting the wide range of influences. Sounds like Jamie T? More like Yorkshire Tea. Songs focusing on life in and around the North of England and the chaos that adolescence brings. big manatee creates a journey for the listener with his trademark wordplay and a constant state of questioning life.

The Froot are a five-piece modern psychedelic & progressive pop-rock band from the heart of Hull. Aged between 21 and 23. With subconscious ties to the 60’s/70’s sound with modern elements, they are influenced by the greats such as The Doors, Pink Floyd and of course The Beatles. Their music vows to take you to a time in society that seems almost extinct today, a time where music was a way of life.

With popularity growing they have many gigs under their belt including famous venues such as The Dublin Castle in Camden, Rebellion in Manchester, The O2 Academy in Islington, and Yardbirds in Grimsby supporting bands like The Coral, Reverend and the Makers, Scouting for Girls, Mystery Jets, and Jim Jones as well as playing on tours/tour dates with Seattle based band Acid Tongue, Stags, Vryll Society, Hidden Charms, and Flyte. The Froot also had the pleasure of being the backing band for Maggie Ronson, sister of legendary guitarist Mick Ronson of David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars and recently ventured out of the country for the first time as a band with a co-headliner slot on the Made in Hull cruise to Amsterdam.

The band are backed with support and guidance from a great network of people such as Colin Lloyd Tucker (The The, Deux Fillies, Kate Bush) as their producer, ties to the Mick Ronson Legacy Trust as well as consistent radio play from BBC Introducing and a debut album engineered by Kenny Jones (Engineer of Oasis & The Smiths) which was released with Glass Records and distributed via Cargo Records.

Meet London-based pop singer-songwriter Pixia. With a distinct style that has been described as ‘compellingly intriguing’ and with the ability to leave you ‘starstruck’, Pixia’s musical journey began with the release of her debut EP ‘Morphia’. This was quickly followed up with her alluring dark-pop single ‘If I’m On Your Mind’, which has received critical acclaim from outlets such as BBC Introducing, Great British Radio and A&R Factory. Inspired by 80s electro-pop and dark wave, Pixia has been singing and writing lyrics since childhood. She grew up performing on local and national stages, both for musical theatre productions and UK talent competitions, before discovering her own sense of artistry. Pixia’s deeply poetic songwriting style is reminiscent of her love for literature and storytelling. Combined with her ethereal vocals and electronic soundscapes, Pixia’s sound is both captivating and unique. Pixia’s ideas begin as a recording on her laptop, with lyrics hand-written from her bedroom. She is currently working on a string of new projects, including the release of her second EP. She continues to perform live at venues around London, as well as studying at music school. Bastie is a former ‘BBC Introducing Artist of the Week’ who has received extensive airplay from BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio. Recently, he was a finalist in the UK Songwriting competition (judged by Brit and Grammy award winning artists). He is influenced by the likes of Lily Allen, Bowie and Jamie Berry.

BBC presenter Andrew Marston commented on Bastie’s sound - “Infectious melodies and emotive lyrics from an artist at the beginning of an illustrious career”. Bastie used the lockdown(s) to hone in on his songwriting; the songs which emerged caught the attention of producer Nick Brine (produced on Oasis & Arctic Monkeys records) having discovered him on local radio. The pair started working together on Bastie’s new material at Rockfield Studios early in September.

Recently, Bastie released ‘Lullaby Highs’. The song was premiered by Hot Press Magazine. Hot Press: ‘The only way is up for the English talent. Hot Press are certainly excited to see what indie-pop anthems he emerges with next’

Bastie can be seen gigging most nights around Herefordshire and in London venues including The Bedford, Lion Coffee + Records, The Fiddler’s Elbow and at numerous Hotvox events. He also looks forward to playing at a number of festivals this year such as Boardmasters, The Big Feastival, and as a main stage opener at various Pub in the Parks.

On the 17th of March 2021, Francesca makes her entrance into the music scene releasing her first single “100 per 100” receiving an excellent response from the public.
