VICE are a 4 piece Metal band from Bury, Greater Manchester. Born from a shared vision to breath new life into the music scene, by bringing our mixture of breathtaking, head banging and hair swirling metal to the rest of the UK and beyond. Our songs are full of powerful riffs/hooks, time/tempo changes and have a big Anthemic feel. Our sound is influenced by the blistering Metal of bands like Machine Head, Lamb of God and Messhugah and Prog of Mastodon and Dream Theater.
VICE have recently shared the stage with, Blaze Bayley, Attica Rage, Reign of Fury, Defcon One, ICON, Savage Messiah, Massive Wagons and Breed77, receiving fantastic feedback from fans, as well as critical acclaim from the likes of Get your Rock out, Manchester Rocks and Metal Temple. The following review is from the Head bangers Balls show at Rebellion Manchester in November 2014
Bury Metallers Vice took to the stage next and proved mesmerizing from the get go. The strong and insatiably pulsating drum work of Connor Summers and stunning solo guitar work of front man Tom Atkinson gave this set a feel of genuine class. Entranced by ‘Wrath’ and ‘Pride’, we couldn’t help but marvel at this truly jaw-dropping band. Review courtesy of Getyourrockout.co.uk
We also had the honour of supporting Manchester prog giants Collibus on their 2014 major Summer festival warm up tour. We recently had the pleasure of supporting the mighty Breed77 on one of only 2 dates in the UK in 2015 and received the following reviews!
They've been forcing their way through the Manchester underground Metal scene and in the last year or they have started to be heavily noticed on the local scene. Vice has been putting in the hard work and were beginning to carve a name for themselves, playing Head bangers Balls, Metal 2 the Masses and now supporting Breed77 They've always proved to be a surprise package pumping out incredulous shreds and Drum beats that shocked and awed the growing crowd. Tom Atkinson's style and performance tore through the set list as his vocals rang true and his shredding mind blowing, the ex-Absolva Guitarist was on fire, beautifully combining his efforts with fellow lead guitarist Jack Trelawney creating a twin lead tag team that would give Guitar enthusiasts wet dreams! The songs were powerful and lyrical in style the crowd were encouraging and seriously getting into the vibe of Vice. Latest recruit Simon (Robbo) Robertshaw was an absolute beast on the Bass guitar and easily looked the part with his fellow band mates. Simon was definitely a perfect fit and his stage performance showed it. Last but not least was the pounding Rhythm machine of Connor Summers adding all the Percussion you need to create a flowing tirade of solid tracks such as 'Greed' and 'Envy' to a welcoming Audience. Good things are going to come their way in the near future with an album in the Making and SOS festival in the Summer it's looking very good indeed! Well the local Metaller’s once again invade Rebellion and they were glorious. Their riffs were tight and their on stage Chemistry was great, firing up with some incredibly tight guitar skills with some brilliant Drum work and awesome Bass grooves. I found them instantly enjoyable and they put a smile on my face. They just made me want to air guitar the night away. Their songs are well constructed and interesting, it's new Music but with that flair of the familiar. They were an awesome band and I hope to see them again! Review courtesy of Mick Birchall! Our performance at SOS festival 2015 prompted the following review from Metal Temple
VICE are easily the best band of the day. They are incredibly energetic onstage, get the crowd riled up and moving very well, and their razor sharp, Thrashing Metal assault helps to set a lofty bar for the rest of the bands to reach performance wise, a bar that few match and even fewer surpass over the course of the weekend.
2015 was a very exciting development year for VICE and the band is already booked for a number of live dates and festivals for 2016 including Sophie Fest, and Wildfire fest. We also continue to record our debut album based on the deadly sins or capital Vice's for release in early 2016 and to promote and establish the band as an exciting vibrant live musical force!
