Offering something a little different to the new rock scene, Verity White and her band are a breath of fresh air in both style, sound and approach who offer an alternative to ‘alternative rock’. Taking influence from 90s stalwarts such as Skunk Anansie, Garbage, Sleater Kinney, Pearl Jam, and Tori Amos, Verity White and her band meld driving riffs, powerfully emotional lyrics, and passionate vocal lines to create brutal, yet beautiful and honest rock music. Formed in 2016, Verity White and her band released ‘Too Much/Look Inside’ followed by their ‘Stripped Bare’ EP in early 2017. These releases were quickly followed by their debut album ‘Breaking Out’, of which Down The Front Media said “Her lyrics are poetic, her message inspirational and her voice is sublime”. 2019 brought the release of ‘Reclaim; Set Fire’, which saw Verity White and her band reach new audiences and impress the critics. Music News.com said “....definitely one of the most fresh and vibrant albums I’ve heard recently….Yes, this is rock and it is based around guitar and female vocals but she sounds like a more experienced and more nuanced singer than most.” Such was the impact made by this album, Verity White and her band were signed by WDFD Records shortly after its release. In a short space of time, Verity White and her band have built up an impressive reputation for an energetic and accomplished live show, full of personality; wowing gig-goers at festivals and music venues across the UK. They have graced the stages at Wildfire Festival and Giants of Rock, with shows this year at The Troubadour (London), The Fleece (Bristol) and The Fiddler’s Elbow (London) before embarking on their UK tour in support of their latest album Reclaim; Set Fire in October 2019. Not a band to hide behind the power of the amps, they have also played intimate acoustic shows; playing at London Zoo and a BBC Radio Live Lounge slot with their stripped back set. Verity White was voted in the Top 10 acts of 2019 the listeners of Guy B’s Rockshow and also named Radio Wigwams Female Artist of the Year 2019.
