TOVA are an off-kilter four-piece rock band from the UK. Blending the in-your-face swagger of Enter Shikari and Highly Suspect with the live energy of IDLES, TOVA’s niche blend of influences immerse their rapidly growing audiences in a frenzy of intensity and emotion.
Several members were previously in the band Dirty Thrills who toured extensively in the UK and Europe. Jack left in 2018 to pursue his own creative writing, fronting his own band by forming TOVA. Dirty Thrills disbanded and Steve (drummer) joined Pete (bass) and Ben (Keys) and formed TOVA’s final line up.
Having had their demo single Nightmares raved about by Steve Lamacq and Abbie McCarthy during BBC Introducing Live, they got the attention of their now manager Liza Buddie (MMF Board Member and Grant adviser and creative Business advisor).
The band have been writing and demoing songs preparing to record their first EP ‘Grapefruit’ set for 2020 release.
The EP deals with the singers depression, getting past toxic-masculine barriers with both aggressive social commentary and curious lyricism.
The band has already played two London Headline shows at Camden Assembly this year (a few tickets off selling out both shows). October 11th they’re releasing their debut single Sugar Rush, produced by Steph Carter (ex-Gallows) coupled with an intense, frenzied music video and a UK tour in support of the release.
