Thomas John is a singer songwriter based in Derry, Northern Ireland. Following on from a successful UK tour in April 2017, Thomas John has just released a radio edit of his song Better Days in the UK and Ireland. The demo version of the track has already received airplay on BBC Radio Ulster, including numerous spins on Across the Line and regular airplay on Stephen McCauley’s daytime BBC show.Thomas John has been gigging constantly over the past year including performances at legendary venues like Leo’s Tavern in Donegal (owned by the Brennans of Clannad and Enya fame), the Dublin Castle in Camden (which has previously hosted the likes of Madness, Blur and Amy Winehouse) and the young singer songwriter recently played at the Spice of Life in Soho which has held gigs by Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Jamie Cullum and the Sex Pistols over the years.In July 2016, Thomas John released his debut EP titled Easy Tiger. The EP was produced by Derry musician and producer Paul Casey (Chris Rea) and features Liam Bradley (Van Morrison, Ronan Keating, Blue Nile) on drums and percussion. To coincide with the release, Thomas John undertook his first Irish tour which included a performance on the main stage of the Foyle Maritime Festival at the famous Guildhall Square in Derry.The radio release of Better Days is also produced by Paul Casey. The track was recorded between Casey’s Cable Junction Studios in Derry and Redcastle in Donegal. The new version of the track features Derry folk singer songwriter Eilidh Patterson on backing vocals.For the remainder of the year, Thomas John plans to continue to gig constantly across Ireland and returns to Scotland and England in July.
