Formed in late 2013 The Voluntears are a five piece indie rock band from the North East of England. The band recorded their first track "Feels like Home" in summer 2014 which they released in the form of a music video shortly after which gained several thousand views in a short space of time and despite not officially releasing "Feels like home" the track went on to reach number 23 as pick of the week in the Dutch Indie music charts. Following the success of "Feels like Home" on Facebook, Youtube and Twitter the band went on to have an epic year in 2014, The Voluntears played gigs at some of the regions top music venues like Newcastle university and the O2 academy to name just a few. The band landed support slots with up and coming bands such as The Spitfires, John McCullough and the escorts fresh from supporting Cast on their UK tour and pop rockers The Natives as well as more established bands like The Rifles. The Voluntears also had some festival success sharing the stage with The Jacksons, Scouting for Girls, Adam Ant, Hugh Cornwell (The Stranglers), Dodgy, Simple Minds and The Sherlocks and many more. The Voluntears headlined a private gig at at a Premier North East Hotel near their home town to a sell out crowd and finished their year on familiar turf on main stage at Newcastle's O2 academy as part of the line up to raise money for teenage cancer trust. 2015 is already shaping up to become their biggest year yet as the boys released their debut EP "No Place Special" via Flicknife Records. The EP has gained glowing reviews printed in music magazines like The Crack. The V's won a £5000 PR package with MUZU TV as their second video release from the EP "And I Know" which was voted top pick in MUZU's May Competition. They also decimated their rivals in Forkster Rock's May competition with the largest landslide of votes in the competitions history winning an online promotions package and a one to one interview which was published online. 2015 has brought a busy gig schedule with headline and support slots booked up and down the country and up coming festival appearances on main stage at Richmond Live and Hardwick live which will see The Voluntears take the stage with likes of Razorlight, James, Embrace, Cast, 10cc, Funeral for a friend and many more....
