The Party Slogan are a 5 piece post-punk band based in Edinburgh, Scotland, with members hailing from Perthshire, Moray and Skye. Formed in 2016 via a Gumtree ad, the band have gigged around the Central Belt circuit since 2018 and have played in support of Creation 23 signees Shambolics in the Capital.
With several stand-alone single releases under their belt after the current lineup was completed in 2019, as well as the release of debut EP “Reasonably Good Indie Music” (titled from a music conference panel’s review of an early single), the band have just released their second EP “Don’t You Think You’re Being Lied To?” in May 2021.
This EP signifies a shift from the jangle pop of their previous work to a darker and more abrasive sound, while still showcasing their ability to write succinct, hook-laden songs, and was recorded by the band themselves during lockdown. Politically charged lead single “Southern Eyes” is a driving and urgent indie rock song which harkens back to their high-intensity live shows - which are also renowned for audience participation.
