The Micro Band are an Edinburgh based eight piece who lovingly united in 2014 to yield happy vibes and fun music that make your face smile and your body move! Our music is a mix of pop, funk, soul, the sort of music you can't help but dance along to! Our debut album 'People People' was released in October 2015 via Bandcamp. We've just started to record our second album, which will hopefully be out late 2017. We currently play a lot of our newer songs - which will feature on the album - live, they are a lot of fun to play!
Whenever we play live, we always make sure each gig is high energy and fun, no matter how many people are there. We love to see people smile and dance to our music, we try and bring some sunshine even if there's rain.
Although we play many gigs, here are a few of our previous performances: Hard Rock's Acoustic Stage in St. Andrews Square Gardens, Edinburgh Soup, The Mash House supporting The Undercover Hippy, Kelburn Garden Party, and Mugstock.
Since July 2015, we've hosted our own bi-monthly music nights at Henry's Cellar Bar in Edinburgh, called The Micro Party. We have a wide mix of musicians and bands perform each one, with the profits going to a different charity each time. We love live music and if we can raise money for good causes at the same time then even better!
