The Jaguar Club is a band from Brooklyn, NY and Boston, MA. The sound is best described as guitar-driven indie rock with electronic leanings.
The band originally formed on New Year's Eve 2006, broke up in the Autumn of 2010, and reformed in the summer of 2014. Assuming the four years on/four years off pattern continues, there is a lot to accomplish in the next few years. In it's latest incarnation The Jaguar Club has swelled to a quintet (from an original trio), released the 6-track 'Close' EP (containing their best songs to date), and toured the US (including a support tour with Idlewild) and the UK, all in one year.
The new EP received some great press, including noteworthy articles courtesy of Magnet Magazine, The Quietus, The Line Of Best Fit, among many others. 'Close,' is the band's 4th release, following up on the 2009 long player 'And We Wake Up Slowly.' That album spent several weeks in the US college radio charts, a rare feat for a self-released record in the current overcrowded musical scape. The LP was covered extensively by the likes of Brooklyn Vegan, Last FM, CMJ, AOL Spinner, etc. Work is currently underway for a 2016 LP release.
The Jaguar Club perhaps shines best in a live setting though. The band logged over 100 shows before the initial break up, and is hard at work trying to play 100 more. 2015 saw the band make it's first trip to the UK to play the inaugural Rockaway Beach Festival as well as a brief club tour. The band also undertook several tours of the Eastern United States. Over the years The Jaguar Club have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with: Idlewild, Ash, Teleman, Ra Ra Riot, The Joy Formidable, The Duke Spirit, A Sunny Day In Glasgow, Bear In Heaven, The Veils, and numerous others. Spring and Summer 2016 will see the band take their new material on the road to anywhere that will have them.
