The Delta Bell is the songs of singer, musician and songwriter Kate Gerrard. The whiskey-soaked soul of Kate’s voice carries timeless songs of love, loss and redemption over a landscape of guitars, piano, pedal steel, harmonium and strings. Songs sweep from tender, intimate arrangements to warm orchestration and gospel harmonies.
Kate plays live with a five-piece band which includes pedal steel, guitar, bass, drums, keys and backing vocals. They have played regularly in Brighton, London and also Berlin.
Reviews for *Bow Out Of The Fading Light*
“An original collection of thoughtful folk-pop that combines pedal steel & harmonium imbued tunes, flecked with alt-country, gospel & classic 60s girl group stylings…. A British original that absorbs & deftly reworks the influences rather than making a reproduction” – Beat Surrender
“With strong material that moves effortlessly between folk goth, gospel and Beautiful South-like pop, Bow out of the Fading Light hooks the listener more with each play. A finely crafted, well-rounded album” – Folk Radio UK
“A record that oozes with stripped back, unconditional organic class. A record embedded with excellence, occasionally aches, often soothes but always impresses. It has the drive of alt-country and lure of iconic pop.” - Three Chords and the Truth
“A home grown style of Americana that seems to come straight out of Nashville (where they should be sitting up and paying heavy attention to this band). Their debut single ‘Wasted’ is a gorgeous slice of classic alt-country.” – Brighton Music Blog
