The Half-Wits are an English hardcore punk band, formed in 2010 in Canterbury, Kent. The group was founded by former Nothing To Prove (NTP) members Tadhg Leahy, Dubhan Leahy and Jake Mcaulay. They recruited their friend Konrad Harris play bass. A few years on Jake left the band and Eddie Wonkey took over on guitar. Early in 2015 John Huffman joined on second guitar to round out their sound for a tour of France. Things fit together really well out on the road - and John was hard to get rid of, so there's been two guitars ever since.

Since 2013, The Half-Wits have taken their sound up and down the country to every corner of England and into Europe. They've been anywhere and everywhere that mohawks create a skyline in musty basements, where people are thirsty for social justice and cheap pints in equal measure, and where friendships and subcultures meet to have a few laughs. And the story's just begun.

On first glance you would be forgiven for thinking that these guys and their fans are foul mouth yobs out to cause trouble (foul mouth may be right when it comes to the lyrics of course...) But this is exactly the type of generalization that gives certain genres an unfair and misunderstood reputation. It is hard and brutal music with even more brutal moves on the dance floor, but this does not mean that it follows the stereotype. These guys are activists, skaters, artists, working class heroes, and five friends crying out for the world to stop mugging each other off and do what's right for everyone. And having a good time doing it.
