Helen was bass player and vocalist in Brighton punk band The Chefs in the early 1980s, before later forming Helen and the Horns, with whom she played guitar and sang. Both bands recorded several sessions for BBC Radio 1's John Peel, and Helen and the Horns were briefly signed to RCA before releasing their independent vinyl album 'Hell Hath No Horns...' . After a 20 year break to raise her family and work as a songwriting lecturer on music courses in London, she now tours as a solo artist and has released three solo albums. She has toured the UK and North Carolina.
