Standing Ovation was formed in 2006.
Four years later the band released their first self-release “Scars Suit Me” in 2010.
The release got recognition in the Finnish Metal Awards, various magazines and webzines which eventually lead to a record deal.
When “The Antikythera Mechanism” hit the charts in their home country Finland in 2012, it took place #4 on the indie charts among other good positions and press. This album was also the first one to make impact around the world and almost all reviews that were done were glorifying. In the camp it was also noticed that the audience had caught the name and music of Standing Ovation. Followed by excellent gigs with Standing Ovation’s trademark of showmanship, the audience was blown away now, not only by an excellent record, but also an amazing live act.
Now with this new album and its killer material Standing Ovation will surely take its next step forward.
The new album called "Gravity Beats Nuclear" will be released in November-December later this year.
