Stairway is an original melodic metal outfit playing heavy, yet melodic metal similar to Iron Maiden, Saxon and Magnum.

Formed in October 1978 at beginning of the NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal).

Debut CD, 'No Rest : No Mercy' produced by Paul Hodson (Hard Rain / Bob Catley). Independently released second album 'Bleeding Heart'.

Stairway's 3rd album 'On Hallowed Ground' was released to an increased fan base, with the track 'Under the Gun' featured on CD issued by American Label MIB Music.

Signed a Licensing deal with Retroactive Records in the USA to re-release the 'No Rest: No Mercy' album as a Limited Edition - followed by an incredible gig appearance in October '05 at Metalfest Germany appearing with Rob Rock (USA) and Narnia (Sweden).

In 2006 released 'The Other Side of Midnight', a disc of pure Classic Heavy Metal, debuting at #2 in the USA's National College Chart, and two Nominations for Best Album and Best Group in the NMW Awards in Hollywood USA.

Slots co-headlining with Blitzkrieg and Blaze Bayley (ex Iron Maiden) at UK festival dates, 5th album 'Interregnum' released in** 2010** on general release in UK, Germany, Norway, Greece, Australia, USA.
