SKAAR's soundscapes invite to a powerful and transcendental journey in several shades of rock.
This towering wall of melancholic noise came together when the classical voice of Karla Lesley Jaeger invited fellow musicians to join her secret project while at university in Bergen, Norway. In her words, this developed into something “magical and mystical”.
Fate smiled on the collective, and soon their band evolved into the Norwegian six-piece SKAAR. Now signed to Deft Artists, SKAAR continues to win over yet more hearts and minds around the world with their enigmatic sound and mind-altering live show.
The band is working on a debut album scheduled for early 2019, and will be releasing singles from it in the Spring and the Fall 2018.

Who: Mad Norwegian rockers. Why you’re going to love them: Anthemic riffs and haunting vocals – the Nordic band’s material sounds like the more feral B-sides of ‘OK Computer’-era Radiohead.

As the bandmates leave the stage, the supernatural atmosphere lifts and you suddenly feel as if you stepped back into a much more boring reality, which is a testament to the magic SKAAR create onstage. Like a theatrical performance spectators are launched into a dark, but rewarding, catharsis. Only Radiohead and PJ Harvey has ever been able to create a similar effect in my long and extensive live music experience…I mean, there’s worse company with which a band could reside.

Overall “Sommerfugl” (meaning “Butterfly”) is six minutes of admirably ambitious art rock – a beguiling balance of subtle textural detail and bold theatricality.
-- The Gig Slut, Roger Mairlot --
This was a stupendous night at The Sebright Arms for The Gig Slut with what were almost certainly my Best New Band of the year : SKAAR. (…) This was an exhilarating set, with the explosive talent of vocalist Karla Lesley Jaeger. My mind was boggled. I was entranced, bewitched, enthralled.
