Shatner is a band, producing multilayered guitar poppery for the people of Earth.

They first appeared in the Leeds area in the early noughties, probably through some kind of swirly vortex thing, and made two critically acclaimed albums “ENERGISE” and “THIRTEEN O’CLOCK” before disappearing again in 2009. Both were voted into Vibrations Magazine's "Top 100 albums of the decade" chart. After five years of radio silence they reappeared in 2014 with the album WOW SIGNALS, and have now released album number 4 - ENLIGHTENMENTAL - following a hugely successful crowdfunding campaign.

Featuring the smart, infectious and often darkly humorous songs of frontman/guitarist Jim Bower, Shatner’s sci-fi tinted multilayered guitar rock/pop is hard to pin down to a genre. “Somewhere between the Clash and the B52’s” said a man, recently.

Jim and his bassist brother Rick are assisted by longtime backing vocalist Sarah Niven and new drummer Anthony Sargeant. Also on board on extra turbo guitar is Paul Morricone, the driving force behind Huddersfield legends The Scaramanga Six and Being 747. Paul was voted best guitarist in the 2015 "Pure Rawk" awards.

It’s rock, Jim, but not as you know it!
