Up and coming musician Sansha is a music graduate based in South-East London. A singer-songwriter at heart, she has written over 50 songs and self-produces them into electronic tracks in her bedroom studio.
Live, Sansha has been described as a 'Victoria Wood meets Lilly Allen' hybrid who on the synthesiser, launchpad and trumpet delivers her unique original songs with a charismatic ease. She has also worked up a comedic routine alongside her songs, which originally came from a love for storytelling, and has written a one-woman show which she has performed at the Edinburgh fringe two times running.
Francesca lewis, the creator behind the moniker, was classically trained on the violin and trumpet as a child but now takes songwriting and production inspiration from a mixture of 80s bands and modern DJs like Denis Sulta and DJ Koze. Her crafty song-writing and bell-like voice have got her tracks aired on the radio numerous times, including Track of the week, performances live on air and numerous interviews on BBC three counties radio,spins on BBC radio 6 and two airplays on BBC radio one. Her recent single 'The Moon' got write ups from blogs such as Lefuturewave, Mishkadj and BBC Radio 6's FreshOnTheNet, and it got selected by Tom Robinson to feature on the BBC music introducing mixtape, and 'Blank Fall' and 'Ride Along The Feeling' was aired by Amazing Radio. Her next release; EP 'Story time' is coming out on the 4th of October. One of the new tracks in the EP '2,3, Times A Day' has already been premiered twice by BBC introducing radio.
Having performed at events and venues such as the Montreux jazz festival, Ronnie Scott's Upstairs, Latitude festival, Omeara,the Courtyard Theatre Hoxton, and Sofar Sounds sessions In Sweden, Southampton, Middlesborough, Frome, Brighton, Denmark and London Sansha is comfortable on stage and loves engaging with the audience.
