Planara is an independent modern rock band from St.Petersburg, Russia. Started in 2013 as a post-hardcore project of two young musicians - Ivan Romanov (vocals) and Eugene Bo (guitar). First songs combined modern metal and metalcore features resulting an impressive energetic sound wave, both brutal and melodic. The band soon became one of the most noticeable acts on the local metal and post-hardcore scene. The first self-released EP (Hostiles, 2014) showed band’s strong thirst for genre experiments - Planara started to search its original sound in more melodic and progressive ways. Planara self-produced two music videos and became the first band in Russia that independently appeared on VEVO network (Something You Should Know, Dec 2014). The year 2015 became a changing point for Planara since half of its staff was replaced in order to satisfy high level of performance and quality demands gradually established in the band. Eugene and Ivan introduced new band members - Denis Yurakov (drums) and Vasiliy Nurullaev (bass guitar). Planara renewed its concert program and is actively performing on the local stages and federal festivals. In summer 2015 the band started to work on a new album that is going to be released in November 2015 presenting a brand new sound and style of Planara music.
