Phil Pieters Smith is a London based singer songwriter born in Brussels, Belgium to English and Belgian parents.

Growing up with an English Mother from Liverpool and older siblings in French speaking Belgium, he was exposed to an eclectic mix of artistic and musical influences.

Phil picked up his first guitar at the age of 12 and never looked back. He made his name as a sought after talented guitarist in the underground scene and with ambient metal underground acts like Emptiness and Enthroned, touring all over the world.

But his need to express his own musical voice beckoned, with each passing year, until it could no longer be silenced. Phil has only just embarked on his solo career as a singer songwriter and being immersed in London life has only inspired him more to follow this path.

Phil’s unusual milieu of influences and his love of the absurd are delicately camouflaged in his atmospheric acoustics and the sometime obscure and quietly tortured lyrics. Words are personal, poetic, intricate and thoughtfully blended into the music.

The cinematic ambiances of his songs transport you to a dark and twisted landscape, but they are never really too far from the melancholy of his European shores.

His music is impressively written, produced and created in a self-built studio and his videos self funded and directed. Although, Phil has yet to sign to a record label, he is already making a reputation for himself as an independent minded musician with a soul and a complete vision for where he will take his music.

Phil has released his first digital single “Prepare to overrun”. You can watch his dramatic video to ‘Prepare to overrun’ by clicking on the following link (https://youtu.be/P8qR3TdQoGM).

After successfully closing 2015 with live shows in California, Phil will start touring in the UK and Europe from this spring.
