Oscar & the Grouches are a young group of mates most of whom met at school, where they began making music together.

Still a little wet behind the ears, they entered the international band competition Emergenza, placing 2nd in Australia in 2010, narrowly missing out on the opportunity to go to Germany to play in the grand finale. But instead of being disappointed, it only made them realise this could actually be something serious.

The band took a break for a while to finish their studies but are now back together and on a mission to get their music out there for everyone to hear.

Oscar Sharah (lead singer/guitarist), along with Jack Janis (Keys/Vox), Luke Gerber (Bass/Vox) and Jacob Siles (Drums), recently set up a little recording studio in Surry Hills, where the band have recorded and produced their first single “Beaches and Beer”. They are now in the midst of recording their first EP and full-length album.

After getting a small taste of the gigging life, playing at The Metro Theatre, UNSW Roundhouse and the Factory Theatre, they are hungry to get out and gig and build a fan-base, hoping to connect with people and share what they love doing.

Oscar & the Grouches are the quirky, fresh, new sound for the summer and are keen to get all you peeps up and dancing!
