Olivia is a folk, acoustic singer/songwriter from Sussex, England, taking inspiration from a range of artists such as Passenger, Nick Mulvey, Laura Marling and Bon Iver. She is a raw and authentic songwriter, writing her music in an honest, real and relatable way to reach a wide audience. She has said that "I want to be a story teller and provoke emotion in those who hear my music and cause change in perspective just as mine has been changed by so many musicians, music is an expression and an outlet for the writer and audience."
Olivia began writing when she was only 11 years of age, this passion developed through various challenging situations she experienced around this time and later on in life such as struggles with anxiety, depression and family relationships breaking, making her realise how much she enjoyed sharing her experiences and stories through her music and it greatly helped her through. She has also been performing since that age which began during her primary school years, developing her confidence and love of this way of communicating and has continued on since. Around this time she started to take part in a local organisation where she learnt to perform and work in bands of others her age they even went on to play at various local events and record an album when she was aged 12, "I wouldn't willingly let someone listen to the album now but it was a great experience and was another major influence on my passion for pursuing music."
She now performs at open mic nights, local events and various functions, she has also featured at festivals around the South of England and on the local 'Meridian' radio. In 2013 she started posting videos performing covers on her YouTube channel in hopes to reach a wider audience, which would have not been accessible at this point without using such a large online platform. Now she has moved on to attend the Academy of Contemporary Music to study Artist Development from September 2014 and is working on writing her first EP which she hopes will be ready to record in the very near future leading to performing new material increasing the exposure of her music.
