Retired, professional musician (do we ever REALLY retire?). My career began in the early 60s with the legendary folk group, 'The Halliard'. In '71, I graduated from Brentwood College of Education where I Studied Composition, Harmony, Counterpoint & Orchestration with Harold Dexter & Annea Lockwood. In parallel I studied Classical Guitar at Trinity College, London. Taught for a few years, but decided to freelance: Playing guitar (Session work, Shows, Cabaret); Arranging & Composing for Chappell & Co., Boston Music, I.M.P., Warner Chappell & Faber Music. Two original choral works received their first performances at The Royal Albert Hall & The Purcell Room on The South Bank. Completed my full-time career back in Teaching at a High School in East London, retiring in 2004. In 2011, I set up nigelpatersonmusic.com to sell sheet music (In association with Faber Music). I spend my time composing, maintaining my website & fitting in a little session work. I am a member of The British Music Writers Council & PRS for Music. All my works can be previewed on Soundcloud.
