Nano Kino are Sarah Suri and Duncan Lloyd They came together to write in 2012 after meeting through a mutual friend & discovering a shared love for the ‘Cocteau Twins’, ‘Women’, ‘Life Without Buildings’ and late 80’s house music.
Convening between two neighbouring towns in the North of England Sarah (in Sunderland) and Duncan (in Newcastle) their songwriting has gathered momentum creating a fast evolving sound based around Suri’s instinctive vocal delivery & Lloyd’s intuitively spacious guitars.
Part biographic, part cryptic, the songs are written equally together and journey from hypnotic rhythms to ethereal euphoria.
With their first album close to completion (planned for release early 2015) Nano Kino will be unveiling further tracks over the coming months. Live dates are planned for later this year and beyond.
