MoodSwing are a jazz quartet, based in Surrey, perfect for your wedding reception, corporate event, private party, or jazz gig.
We play an eclectic set of songs from the Twentieth Century American Song Book. Expect memorable, hum-able numbers from the swing, Latin and Parisienne style Hot Club repertoire. We are able to play in small venues totally acoustically, but also have our own PA system should you need a bit more volume.
We provide a warm melodic sound which is perfect for all occasions and in addition to our main line-up of violin, two guitars and double bass, we also bring out mandolin, clarinet and flute for certain tunes.
The players MoodSwing is a versatile musical unit, where many different interests and influences collide...
There's Ann Mayor (violin) who brings a deep love of the jazz stylings of Stephane Grappelli and Christian Garrick. There's Peter Mayor (guitar) whose background in 60s British R'n'B is topped off by a passion for jazz guitar legends like Joe Pass, Django Reinhardt and Wes Montgomery. Chris Evans (guitar, violin, mandolin) brings all manner of influences (and instruments) to the band, and Mike Bennett (double bass) is a groovesome all-rounder, and has performed with many trad' and mainstream jazz bands in his time.
