Drawing from both from her classical and contemporary music training, her uplifting and empowering yet sentimental vibe identifies with many audiences. Megan is inspired by the works of Elton John and Kate Bush, while also taking influence from contemporary artists, including Rae Morris and Sigrid.
Megan Lara Mae began songwriting at age 12 and by the age of 15 was performing her original music at shows and festivals across the U.K. During summer 2017, Megan Lara Mae took her talents to the stages of well- known music festivals including The Great Escape, Smoked & Uncut and even Glastonbury Festival. Megan Lara Mae has also gained much radio recognition through broadcasts and Live Lounge performances on BBC Introducing for BBC West Midlands and BBC South, as well as being featured on Tom Robinson’s BBC Introducing Mixtape for BBC Radio 6 Music.
’Into Daylight’, released in October 2018, was the debut EP release from Megan Lara Mae, which has already racked up over 60k streams on Spotify. ‘Caribou’ was released as the lead single in April 2018 and was supported by Spotify’s ‘Fresh Finds: Poptronix’ playlist. The EP is a message of inspiration and encouragement to listeners and the artworks are a collaboration with Brighton based Christian painter, Joel Michael Nicholas.
