Meet Maya K, A DJ and producer of electronic music. Growing up in a quiet City in the North of England has its advantages, such as have the freedom of being diverse and not having to conform to the status quo.

Coming from a music loving family who had Krafwork, Soft Cell, Spanduet Ballet as well as Shalamar and Madonna in the record collection also has its benefits. Maya has been able to develop a skilful hand in creating a range of emotions that span the breadth of House and dance. Listening now you would not think that at a stage Maya’s biggest influence was Eminem. But it is true that Maya used to Rap and Sing while creating Demo’s to hand out at school and started writing RnB song structures at 14.

As a child Maya had a particular penchant for a guitar owned by an uncle that played in a Northern Soul band. So much so that Maya’s parent bought a keyboard to act as a distraction. Maya started learning the Keyboard in the early years of life and used music as a way to find confidence and build aspirations. Eventually Maya had her first studio recording sessions as a vocalist after leaving school but quickly fell into love with production, software and faster tempos.

Maya’s weapons of choice include Ableton Live and Logic as well as Traktor, but like most Fruity Loops was the epicentre of the explosion of electronic energy that can now be heard in her music. A little secret is that to get Maya dancing you can play a Robin S – Show Me Love ;).

After 5 years of Producing its safe to say that Maya still has a long career ahead of her and that it is about time for an EP that summarises the journey so far.
