About
About

"Manna" are Anna Reuben (vocals, keys) and Mike Seal (guitars). We write songs about old and new friendships, reflecting our work and lives. We combine elements of blues, folk and country with a Birmingham accent. An unlikely duo on the same side of the fence.

Anna Reuben has been a vocalist in different guises for many years. She has toured the American midwest with an indie rock band featuring a native Finnish harp (Kantele) and has performed as a chorist in high-profile choirs in Paris and Berlin. In her originals and music projects she brings together different influences from alternative rock to classical, first having recorded self-penned songs in Ghent, Belgium in 2013, an album entitled "Ah! It Was Sweet". She is an experienced entertainer at weddings and functions, having performed all around the country with reputable functions bands like Groove Collider, Coaster, Popdoctors, and is currently lead singer for Cream Limousine (motown, soul, and pop throughout the ages). Anna also plays keys, first tickling the ivories at the age of seven, and carefully selects the keyboard sounds for Manna's songs, from the electric piano to the pipe organ.

Mike Seal has been an active musician for 30 years. He has worked as a musical director, composer, producer and engineer and has played hundreds of gigs across Europe. He specialises in double bass, but can also play guitar, banjo, mandolin and most string instruments. He currently plays for blues artist Sean Taylor, who has a growing worldwide following and eight acclaimed albums to his credit. He also plays for the Avant-Garde Jazz trio Told Americans. They feature an intense experimental sound with political overtones. They have released an EP (Nub Music, 2016) and a LP (‘And The Grey Becomes One’, Nub Music, 2017) described by Fathea thus 'Told Americans possess an abundance of expert musicianship with energy, passion and a desire to truly experiment with preconceptions and push the artistic envelope to accurately express the ideas of the collective, and the result is unusual, stimulating and most invigorating'.
