Formed in late 2013, LIONAL, are an Indie/Noir Pop band from Inverness, Scotland who in 2014 were dubbed the best unsigned band in the country.

Lional’s sound draws influence from the melancholic aspect of post-punk bands The Smiths and Joy Division though the band are often compared to more modern acts such as Interpol, Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand. The bands debut EP 'My Design' received nationwide critical acclaim with airplay on Vic Galloway's BBC Radio Scotland show, MFR and Jim Gellatly's XFM radio show.

They recently released their debut single 'Season of Salt' through new Highland imprint IMOUT Records, which again featured critical acclaim, including being chosen as Artist of the Week in The Scottish Sun and further airplay on BBC Radio Scotland from Vic Galloway and Jim Gellatly respectively.

''They came across as the fully formed article. Blistering Indie rock songs and great stage presence - they ARE destined for big things." - Jim Gellatly, The Sun

''Season of Salt is a thundering single from Lional. They are impressive on recording and very, very good live.'' - Vic Galloway, BBC Radio Scotland

''Lional create dark, yet infectious indie-rock gems, making them one of the most promising young bands in the Highlands.'' - Derick Mackinnon and Olaff Furniss, Scotland on Sunday
