'She’s got such great presence on stage and she’s clearly completely in control of her entire sound, she produces the music herself, she plays it live on stage herself she’s a very very talented artist...go and see her any chance you get!' - Alan Raw, BBC Introducing in West Yorkshire
‘….and she was a bit of a revelation. Early days but big heavy beats and that beautiful soaring vocal left me wanting to find out more…’ - Tony Ereira, Come Play With Me, God is In the TV Zine.
‘…making her a one-woman band. Impressive, right? She’s inspired by post-punk, and 80’s nostalgia which makes for a really unique, dark sound that I can’t get enough of.’ - Emily Pilbeam, BBC Introducing.
Featuring on BBC 6 Music, Huw Stephens' BBC Radio 1 show and BBC Introducing, La Rissa is a 2-piece making dark spooky synth pop in a dim little attic in Leeds. Previously releasing her her first DIY EP 'Control' (2016) as a one-woman band, La Rissa was featured on BBC Introducing in West Yorkshire performing a live session and interview. Influenced heavily from an eclectic mix of 80’s dark-wave and post-punk artists, the producer uses her own live vocals, midi-controllers and analogue synths amongst dark thought provoking projected visuals and live percussion. Developing their sound and vision as now a 2-piece (2019) La Rissa opened up the BBC Introducing stage at Live at Leeds Festival. Planning to release an EP late 2019 La Rissa continue to refine their sound and vision making sad songs you just want to dance to.
