Khadijatou works in various sets-ups, from full band, to acoustic to solo with djembe drum & voice. She brings her uniquely catchy her-stories, usually inspired by life & travels; polysemantic commentary, bringing out the irony or risqué about various subjects, but mainly, 'Sex, Lies & History' in its widest sense. Sung & Spoken, it’s driven by music sonic fusions of afro-futuristic, jazz, funky drummer & pulsating dub bass lines & desert blues vibes taking the audiences on a music journey, from Brixton to Mali & forward to a re:imagined AfroPunk space... Audiences, usually on their feet dancing, join with call & response chants, whilst she’s playing her drum or with the Band.
Recently in Summer 2017, Khadijatou joined forces with Brixton, South London’s JUJU ROCK, with two original members & three new members formed the NEW ‘JUJU ROCK Band with Khadijatou Doyneh’. Together this is a powerful NEW Alchemical Music Force & they are steadily growing their Juju Family...
