Eriko Ishihara was born in Tokyo, Japan. After graduating from Kunitachi College of Music, where she studied classical piano, she came to London to attend the jazz course at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Since then Eriko has established an enviable reputation on the UK jazz scene, working at the likes of Ronnie Scott’s and 606 Club. In 2003, she signed the major record deal with the Japanese record company, Ponycanyon. She released 4 CDs, one of them featuring US sax legend Scott Hamilton. She regularly tours in Japan as well as performing in the UK.
