About HURSTfolk.
HURSTfolk. is a village-wide celebration of live music, creativity, and community spirit. Founded in Hurstpierpoint in 2023, the festival has grown over three editions into a much-loved weekend that brings together artists, audiences, and venues from across the BN6 area.
What began as a simple idea — a small local music night — quickly gained momentum when dozens of musicians from the village stepped forward to take part. The event soon expanded into a three-day festival, showcasing a huge variety of genres and transforming both established and lesser-used spaces into intimate, atmospheric venues.
Despite the playful name, HURSTfolk. has never been just a folk festival. Across its first three years it has featured everything from rock, blues, pop and Americana, to experimental acts, workshops, talks, and family-friendly shows. Its ethos has always been the same: to celebrate the folk of Hurstpierpoint — the musicians, creators, volunteers, businesses, and audiences who make the village such a vibrant place to live.
Each edition has welcomed hundreds of attendees, supported dozens of local performers, and contributed to the buzzing atmosphere on the high street throughout the festival weekend.
HURSTfolk. will be pausing in 2026 to take time to reflect, regroup, and plan for the future — with the possibility of occasional one-off events during the year — before returning with renewed energy for what comes next.
