Stones-y swagger and rowdy, eclectic futurism.
Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Hani is keeping the spirit of alternative rock alive and well with his bombastic, emotional album The Polar Route.
After years of anonymity in London, Hani relocated to China in 2014 and became a veteran of the burgeoning music scene of Shanghai. What ensued was three years of non-stop parties, guerilla gigs, traditional gigs, nation-wide tours and countless songs written among innumerable bands and projects. Hani’s roots as a British alternative rock musician became more of a badge of honour than ever before.
Hani’s influences range from the lyrical drive of the Manic Street Preachers and The Smiths, to Nine Inch Nails cinematics and Nile Rodgers rhythms. And at the centre sits his happy-go-lucky vocal delivery worthy of Peter Sarstedt himself.
