Gravy Train presents:
ZOH AMBA + LIFTER
Entry Requirements: 16+ event (16-17’s must be accompanied by an adult).
ZOH AMBA is a songwriter and musician from Kingsport, Tennessee, known for their expressive work as a saxophonist and ensemble leader. Blending avant-garde, noise and devotional influences, Amba has recently turned towards songwriting, acoustic guitar and folk, expanding their sound into something more direct and personal.
Their Matador debut, Eyes Full, pairs raw Appalachian folk and loose acoustic blues with bursts of feedback-driven intensity. Recorded live with drummer Jim White and guitarist Kevin Hyland, the album explores memory, identity and home through soulful, character-driven songs rooted in working-class life.
LIFTER blend slowcore, folk, country and chamber pop into music that shifts between gentle intimacy and bursts of dynamic intensity. Drawing comparisons to Tram, Fairport Convention and Songs: Ohia, their sound combines understated, folk-inflected songwriting with a distinctly atmospheric edge.
