COLOSSAL SQUID • www.instagram.com/colossalsquidmusic

A project from producer/drummer Adam Betts (Squarepusher, Goldie, Three Trapped Tigers,Melt Yourself Down). An argument between a drum kit and a laptop, the idea for this project came from a desire to see what music could be generated from a drum kit - could there be freedom whilst still resulting in music that was immediate, engaging and not entirely wanky. Trying to find the balance between the immediacy of punk and improv and the sonic possibilities of electronic music. With a new album finished, this will be one of the first chances to perform these songs live.

INWARDS • www.instagram.com/inwards_92

Free Flow is the new album by UK electronic artist Inwards, the project of Kristian Shelley. Inspired by creative “flow states,” the record explores full immersion, where time slows and instinct takes over.

Since his earliest releases, Inwards has drawn acclaim for melodic, playful productions built from modular synths, found sounds and acoustic elements. Support from Resident Advisor, MOJO, Clash and BBC 6 Music, alongside live shows with artists including Lapalux and Forest Swords, has cemented his reputation.

Built from live improvisation on hardware, Free Flow follows mood and movement — embracing repetition, looseness and chance. Rhythms drift, melodies surface and dissolve, and the music opens space for reflection and getting lost.

JUSJIM • www.instagram.com/jamesovine

JUSJIM is the name of James Vine’s new solo project. James has emerged as one of the UK’s most exciting new drummers. Mixing melodic jazz phrases with angular electronic rhythms and the raw energy of punk and metal, James’ rhythmic approach is truly unique. Best known for his work with experimental trio Waldo’s Gift with whom he has received much critical acclaim from tastemakers across BBC 6Music and Radio 1 as well as countless publications including Clash, DIY & more.

A composer and performer in his own right. Jusjim combines James’ passions for music and creative technology, having studied a masters in Computer Science and dedicating this time to exploring new intuitive ways to interact with technology and sound.
