GAG SALON

Gag Salon burst onto the London scene in 2022, joining up with indie label Blitzcat Records to release their debut EP ‘Get A Load Of This Guy’. Recorded with Chris McCrory (Catholic Action, Conscious Pilot) at Green Door Studio, Glasgow, their frenzied art-punk garnered acclaim from BBC R1, R6, NME and So Young Magazine as well as sell-out headline shows at two of London’s best loved independent venues, Windmill Brixton and The Lexington.

In 2023, they embarked on their most ambitious project to date, an unexpected collaboration with internationally renowned dance company BalletBoyz. Their production ‘England on Fire’ saw Gag Salon’s music set to daring routines choreographed by Thick and Tight and Holly Blakely, performed live for four sold-out nights in front of a 1,500 strong audience at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in Islington. The show also featured compositions from composers such as Keaton Henson and Gwilym Gold, and was covered in multiple national publications.

In early 2024, the band decamped to Glasgow and returned to Green Door Studio once more to record their debut album with McCrory, continuing in the tradition of the band’s impassioned, theatrical art-rock, but also expanding their sonic horizon to incorporate wider influences from across the spectrum.
