Good Canary sings gallows-humour lyrics over electro-pop riffs: she believes that, like a canary in a coalmine, a song can be an excellent warning. She's been featured by BBC Radio 6 and regularly plays and hosts DIY shows in London and Oxford.
Her first EP, 'Afraid to Dance', is out soon on Gare du Nord (Deerful, Ralegh Long) and is produced by Grace Banks (Austra, Let's Eat Grandma, Max Richter).
She's been compared to St Vincent, Victoria Wood, and "a woman about to go postal with the contents of the cutlery drawer" (Nightshift Magazine), and will happily be described as anything other than 'quirky.' She's a pianist at heart but she uses Ableton and various tiny synths to create a weird sonic world.
You'll laugh, but you'll also be unsettled.
