Hoarded from the local music scene, Garrow Hill’s amassed experiences are a reincarnation of Alternative culture, British satire, Rock n’ Roll etiquette and a large slice of cryptic narrative.
Formed in York in April 2018, Garrow Hill are a brazen four piece featuring Drummer PG Branton, Vocalist/Guitarist Mark Chappell and Stew King and Bassist Dan Rawcliffe.
A product of the dysfunctional 80’s, Garrow Hill’s mind is peppered with references to urban monsters, classic animation, lo-fi horror movies and Thatcher’s bloody Britain (awhile dealing with the sudden terror of self-worth). With this being the portent of things to come, they have quickly established themselves as an original and gritty live act, combining obscure humour with their brand of dynamic dark arts.
Featuring on local radio stations YO1 Radio and Jorvik Radio, airing songs such as; “Saw Bones” and “One Way Glass”, Garrow Hill have also appeared live and acoustic on the Minster FM Breakfast show performing fans’ favourite “Skeletons”.
Drawing on a wide range of influences; notably forcing together elements of British Hard Rock with American Punk Rock to the decedent late DIY and grunge scene of the 90’s, Garrow Hill have seized the opprtunity to lead from the front and are most certainly a band that are more than meets the eye.
Having released their debut self-titled Live EP in 2019 and successfully gathered a proven record on the road, Garrow Hill are currently working on new material.
Long live the Hill!
