flirting. are an anxiety-pop band who formed somewhere around the start of 2016 in East London. Whilst they might have come together originally for their collective love of an eclectic array of music/noise/vine videos, it would soon become apparent that it was more of a group therapy project, set to a Sofia Coppela soundtrack.
The band's debut fuzz-laden single 'Wouldn't You' was warmly received, with its later video seeming to become something of a briefly viral hit on Reddit (much to the confusion of everyone involved). But there's a lot more to the band than fuzzed out shoegaze - live they've become known for their distinctly interwoven guitars, multi-narrative lyrics, and textured rhythmic songs. With a constant desire for experimentation with the unexpected (as well as an urge to enforce hearing protection) driving the band, their play with dissonance and the idiosyncratic come together to make a lush soundscape within which the band thrive. Their forthcoming EP sees the band carve out their own distinct shape in all that city noise.
